Health and Spirituality: Your Physical Body is a Meaning Vessel to Achieve Your Spiritual Self

In our path to pursue the achievement of our spiritual self, we need to also pay attention to our body.  Our body is the vessel to our soul.  When it is healthy, we will be more able to think clearly.  When it is healthy, we are more able to be of service to others, to contribute to communities, to have the energy to share, and to make effort in raising the consciousness of our human brethren higher level.

As such, the body cannot be neglected.  As we work to become holistic, we also need to be wholistic and to have appreciation, compassion, and care to our body by providing it with the opportunity to exercise, of enjoying the benefits of good diet, and of  be rejuvenated by ample rest (especially not to sleep too late).

Are you committed to your body? Do you have compassion for it?  Currently, I am committed whenever I wake up in the morning just to do some simple exercise 4-5 minutes of calf exercise, 65 crunches, and 25 push-ups.  This is done for the purpose to stimulate our meridian channels and to allow our energy, our chi to be "awakened" and to flow much better.

On the weekends, mostly on Sunday, I go to Bukit Kiara to spend 1 or 2 hours walking up and down the hill, getting to taste the fresh air and the generous energy emitted by the green.  And all the time being thankful in the process.

Also, I spend some time to focus on certain chakra.  As they are meditated and have energy stimulated, it can flow to also nourish the body.  However, I must remember to close it after I finish meditating.  Yet, chakra meditation can be combined with walking meditation.  This is something I would like to experience and experiment.  Before doing this, I will have to speak to the Divine to guide me through the process and enable me to feel the energy within so it can naturally direct me onto the parts in where it needs work.

Although the body is transient/impermanent, it is the medium in which we use to act, to create meaning in our life and to establish meaningful relationship with others and the environment.  When our body is weak, then there will be challenge to do the above.  Though it is not impossible as some people with resolve can still attain the above achievement, I will leave this for another post to discuss and facilitate my further contemplation.

I am (Prolific) Writer

I am writer.... A prolific writer.  Why do I write? I write to record. I write to reflect.  But will I look back to what I have written before.  Perhaps yes.  Perhaps no.  Depends on what purpose?  I look at what I have written there is danger that I may preoccupied myself in the past which will not be produce.  Our life is to live and enjoy the present.  But at present, it it possible we look back into the past in order to create something more.  So when we do look into our past writing, are we reading it for the purpose to create?  By further creating, we can thus make greater abundance in which we are able to give and share.  The past writing act as the building blocks where we can innovate and build something for the better and to make something that is beautiful and more things that are beautiful.  So the past writing can be used as useful reference, not for us to delve into the memory of the past, but something for us to create at present and prepare for the future giving.  Yet, it must be noted, that present is what we need to be mindful of, to concentrate on, to focus our life upon.  Because the future is unknown.  It is uncertain.  What we do is to create to prepare and allow the Divine to present to us the opportunities where He or She deems fit.  If it comes, it comes.  Let the Divine guides us.  And when the opportunities come, whatever we have prepared will allow to capture this opportunity.

The More You Have Gratitude Towards Life, The Less You Fear Death

I came across the quote in my mind as I was driving home from work one day.  The idea came to me as I was worried about living... or perhaps end of it.  However, I realize that reasons we have such worry is because we are not having enough gratitude towards what life have already bestowed on us.  Somehow, this sense of worry about death stemmed from the lack that we feel within us.  We fail to realize the abundance that we current have.  This feeling of lack leads us to have the occasional anxiety of prospect that we have missed something during our life period.

Why do we fear death?  It is often due to us regretting on the things in life we missed, on the dreams we have not achieved.  However, there is danger that such regrets come from always looking at the external world and seeing how others might have become successful, which leaves you feeling inferior and perhaps being envious of others.  And this can distract you from having gratitude to what you already have.  It is important that we appreciate the things that the Divine has given us at the moment.  And through this appreciation, we can fill ourselves with gratitude and fill ourselves with abundance.  Our constant preoccupation of looking outwards will always result in us feeling not fulfill.  Often this compel us to pursue more of the external stuff in our attempt to fill the void we have in life.  However, we live in a life of strange logic, the more we pursue to fill our life with external stuff, to more the void grow bigger.  We are trapped in a vicious circle which (I believe in Buddhism) is called Samsara. When this will end?  How can we end this?  To achieve liberation. To emancipate ourselves for this perpetual cycle of discontent, of pain, and of internal suffering.  The answer is simple.... It is just by having gratitude.  Especially to the Divine.  And then to what we currently have.  From this gratitude, we will be able to grow our abundance.  And when we have abundance, then more "rewards", regardless whether it is small or large, will come and will have better appreciation of them.
